SNOW?

Well in typical Oneonta fashion, it's SNOWING. On October 22nd. So not cool! This should make for a very interesting Halloween, none the less a very interesting winter.

This week is going to be jam-packed with work and activities.  Today starts parents weekend, kicking off with the annual Cardboard Boatrace (better them than I...paddling across the Hunt pond in the snow in a cardboard boat, doesn't exactly sound like my cup of tea!)  The Oneonta campus will be alive with Alumni and parents from all over, and there will be many things to do!  Next week also starts the Halloween festivities, including the Order of Omega Halloween Carnival (where Greeks set up booths for kids to participate in activities before they go trick-or-treating) and Halloween in the Halls (which everyone should participate in! The kids are so cute!)  Hopefully the kids will have a lot of fun!

On Oct. 31st, Phi Sigma Sigma will be holding their annual Kidney Walk from 11-1:30, and everyone is encouraged to come and participate, and to wear their costumes too!

After Halloween, we will be putting on our fundraiser at the Pub on Nov 4th.  Half of the proceeds will go towards the American Liver Foundation, so we'd love for everyone to come out and support the great cause, and have fun doing it!

Alumni Weekend!

It's that time in the semester again, Alumni Weekend!  It's so much fun getting to talk to alumni from all different years and learn about Arethusa from them.  We had an awesome weekend, filled with lunches and brunches and scavenger hunts.  Now that the weekend has passed, it's back to the real world.  Time to get back to our schoolwork (not as fun as seeing our beautiful alumni but it has to be done!) and finish up our midterms...

Campus Happenings

Hey all!

So it's been pretty busy here on campus since we've been back!  Today Arethusa and Pi Delta Chi are hosting a bake sale, from which all proceeds are going to the Abagail Murphy Memorial Fund.  We've had great success so far at the bakesale, and we're really glad to be supporting such a great cause.

Some other things that we of Sigma Gamma Phi are really excited about are our Alumni weekend, and the benefit concert we're hosting on November 4th!

Alumni weekend is next week, and we can't wait to see our older sisters.  It's great to get to know these sisters, and to also get to hear their stories about what Greek life was like here at Oneonta when they were in school.  Alumni weekend is also a great opportunity to connect with sisters we haven't seen in a while, so it's always a great time had by all.

The benefit concert we're holding November 4th is also going to be for a great cause.  This 18yrs & up concert will be hosted at the Pub, and will feature Kevin Shea & Kevin Kennedy (each playing solo sets) at 10pm.  It will be $3 for 18-20 year olds, and $2 for 21 and up.  Half of the proceeds will go towards the American Liver Foundation, so come out and support!

Hope everyone's having a great semester so far, and that's all I've got for now.  More next time!
